To obtain Canadian Citizenship, a person should either be -

Born in Canada

Born outside Canada to a legal or biological parent who is a Canadian Citizen, or
-
Become naturalized in Canada
For Citizenship purposes, Canada includes the person being born on Canadian land, airspace, waters and Canadian registered ships and aircrafts. Children born abroad will be granted Canadian Citizenship if the Canadian parent(s) are employed abroad as a Crown servant. Citizenship is not obtained if parent(s) were in Canada in a diplomat or diplomat-like job and neither parent was a PR/CC at the time of birth
