ABOUT THE PILOT

Home Support Worker Pilot is a 5 year pilot program that let the qualified caregivers and their family members to come to Canada for permanent residency. The person should have performed some or all of the required duties of a

  • Home support worker,

  • Attendant for persons with disabilities - Home care,

  • Family caregiver,

  • Housekeeper,

  • Live-in caregiver - seniors,

  • Personal aide - home support,

  • Personal care attendant - home care, Or

  • Respite worker - home support

ABOUT THE PROCESS

  1. You apply to the Home Support Worker Pilot program overseas

  2. You submit the work permit application along with the permanent residency application

  3. If you meet the requirements, you will get a work permit to work in Canada

  4. You have to work for at least 2 years to qualify for permanent residency

 

ELIGIBILITY

You are eligible to apply for Home Support Worker Pilot program if you have

  • Intention to live in Canada in a province or territory other than Quebec

  • Have the ability to become economically established in Canada

  • Meet the minimum language proficiency criteria set for the occupation

  • Meet the minimum education requirement

You must also have one of the following

  • 2 years of full-time Canadian work experience in an eligible occupation within last 3 years 

      OR

  • A valid full-time job offer from a Canadian employer in an eligible caregiver program
